Harvest Festival

It’s our Harvest Festival on Thursday at St. Paul’s Church.
We will be singing our favourite harvest song – Cauliflowers Fluffy!

Make sure you learn your words 🙂

Cauliflowers Fluffy and cabbages green
Strawberries are sweeter than any I’ve seen
Beetroots purple and onions white
All grow steadily day and night

The apples are ripe and the plums are red
Broadbeans are sleeping in a blankety bed

Blackberries are juicy and rhubards sour
Marrows fattening hour by hour
Gooseberries hairy and lettuces fat
Radishes round and runner beans flat

The apples are ripe and the plums are red
Broadbeans are sleeping in a blankety bed

Orangey carrots and turnips cream
Reddening tomatoes that used to be green
Brown potatoes in little heaps
Down in the darkness where the celery sleeps

The apples are ripe and the plums are red
Broadbeans are sleeping in a blankety bed, Yea!

Mrs Cosgrove 🙂

New Comets are ready for blast off!

We have had such a fantastic start to the year. Already we have learned how to partition 2 digit (and 3 digit!) numbers, written our own story, done observational drawings of our toys and so much more! We have got our log ons to Mathletics and are continuing our learning on Purple Mash.

This blog is here for you to tell us what you are enjoying about Y2, what you want to learn and what you hope to achieve. I look forward to hearing about all your adventures over the coming year.

Mrs Cosgrove 🙂

The Deep

On Friday we went to The Deep to start our topic work on creatures that live under the sea. We had a fantastic day and learnt lots!

What was your favourite part of the day? What would you like to find out this half term about creatures that live under the sea?

Snow in Spring!

We’ve had another snowy weekend here in Sheffield. What did you get up to in the snow? Did you go sledging or build a snowman?

Our Africa Topic

We are learning all about Africa this half term. We have already talked about different animals that live in Africa and described them in our writing.

What else are you looking forward to finding out about Africa?

Book Week at Mundella

Today is the start of our Book Week, and we set off a brilliant week with Grandparents’ Day. We loved sharing our books with our Grandparents and enjoyed going to the Bookworm Cafe for a drink and a biscuit.

What is your favourite book? Who is it written by? Why do you like this book?

Enjoy Book Week!

Mrs Cosgrove 🙂

Snow day!

What a fantastic morning playing out in the snow. Some of us made a snowman! What was it like in the snow this weekend? What did you get up to?

I went sledging in the park and made a snowman in my back garden with Tom and Mr Cosgrove 🙂
